How do I view jobs?

Go to suncor.com/careers to find more information about careers with us or go to jobs.suncor.com to view jobs.
What if I don’t see a job opportunity that I’m interested in and qualified for?

If you don’t see any jobs that interest you, please join our talent community to sign up for job agents (alerts sent to your email). You can tailor the job agents to your preferred job category and location, how often you receive alerts and to stay connected to Suncor.
How do I apply to jobs online?

  1. When you find a job posting you’re interested in and qualified for, select “Apply now”
  2. If you have not already created a talent community profile, select “Create”. Refer to the information below and follow the instructions to create a talent community profile. If you have already created a profile, enter your email and password and select “Sign in”
  3. You are now in your candidate profile. You can upload your resume and add previous work experience, education, language skills, and certificates or licenses
  4. Select “Next”
  5. Confirm your application information, upload a cover letter and select “Apply”
How do I upload a cover letter?

During the application process you will have an opportunity to upload your resume and cover letter. If you apply to multiple jobs, you can upload a different resume and cover letter for each job. You can upload your resume when you create your candidate profile, but you can only upload a cover letter when you apply for a job.

How do I know if I’ve successfully applied for a job?

Once you’ve selected "Apply", a screen will appear confirming you have successfully applied. You will also receive a confirmation to your email account on file. Be sure to check your junk mail if you do not receive it.
I’ve applied for a job at Suncor. When will I receive a response?

After a job posting has closed, our recruiting team will review all candidates. Those selected for an interview will be contacted directly. If you were not contacted by a recruiter, you will receive an email notification from Suncor when the position has been filled (timing varies).
How can I get an update on the status of my application?

  1. From the job postings page, select the “Sign in” button
  2. Enter your email and password and select “Sign in”
  3. Select “View Profile”; this brings you in to your candidate profile
  4. Under the job management header, navigate to jobs applied
  5. Refer to the status column for an update on where your application is in the recruiting process
How do I update the information in my application?

  1. Once your application has been submitted, it cannot be updated. To view your application:
  2. From the job postings page, select the “Sign in” button
  3. Enter your email and password and select “Sign in”
  4. Select “View Profile”; this brings you to your candidate profile
  5. Under the job management header, navigate to jobs applied
  6. Select the job title of the application you want to review
  7. Scroll to the bottom and select “View Application”
How do I withdraw my application?

  1. From the job postings page, select the “Sign in” button
  2. Enter your email and password and select “Sign in”
  3. Select “View Profile”; this brings you to your candidate profile
  4. Under the job management header, navigate to jobs applied
  5. Locate the application you wish to withdraw. Choose “Select” then “Withdraw Application"

To reapply to the same job, follow steps 1-4. Then choose “Select” and “Resubmit Application”.

Can I apply to more than one job at Suncor?

Yes, as long as your qualifications match the criteria for the job.

Profiles and passwords

How do I create a talent community profile?

  1. From the job postings page, select "Join our community"
  2. You will be asked for your:
    • Email
    • First name
    • Last name
    • Job category
    • Interest level
    • Create and confirm your password
  3. This is also where you can sign up for job agents (alerts sent to your email).

Note: We launched a new recruiting system on November 30, 2015. If you created an online profile before then, you will need to create both a talent community and subsequent candidate profile to apply for any jobs at Suncor.

What is the difference between my talent community profile and my candidate profile?

A talent community profile allows you to set up job agents so you can be notified of job postings in your area of interest, and receive emails from Suncor. A candidate profile is where your personal information is stored, as well as your resume. A candidate profile is required to apply for a job.

How do I edit my talent community profile?

  1. From the job postings page, select “Sign in”
  2. Enter your email and password and select “Sign in"
  3. Select “Edit”, make changes and then select “Save”
I want to apply for a job. It is asking me to create a profile, but I already have one.

You may have already created a talent community profile which is different from a candidate profile. If you have not already done so, you will be prompted to create a candidate profile before you can apply for a job.
How do I edit my candidate profile?

  1. From the job postings page, select the “Sign in” button
  2. Enter your email and password and select “Sign in”
  3. Select “View Profile”; this brings you to your candidate profile
  4. Select “My Profile”
  5. Edit as required. Select “Save”
What if I can’t remember my password?

From the sign in page, please enter your email address and select "Forgot password." A message will be sent to the email account we have on file with instructions to reset your password.

Recruiting

I am in the recruitment process and received an email from a third party vendor. How do I know it is legitimate?

Suncor has partnered with several third party vendors to assist in the recruitment process. You will receive email notifications directly from these vendors, asking you to complete requests related to your application, including a video interview, assessment testing, and a background check.

Someone sent me a job offer. How do I know it is legitimate?

Suncor is aware some job seekers have received false employment offers from an individual or organization posing as Suncor.

Suncor will never request money from job seekers, nor request personal information beyond what is required for a resume.

Does Suncor hire internationally for jobs in Canada?

Suncor is a Canadian company operating in Canada and abroad. For Suncor jobs based in Canada we have a responsibility and a legal obligation to hire Canadians first. Suncor only hires candidates from outside of Canada when there is a shortage of that specific skill in the Canadian labour market and we can demonstrate to the Government of Canada we are unable to fill our position(s) with a Canadian. I am currently living in Canada, am I eligible to work at Suncor?
