Bereavement Grant

The Bereavement Grant is for a Suncor employee or retiree wanting to make an in memoriam gift in memory of someone from the Suncor "family" who has passed away. Gifts are made only to registered Canadian charitable organizations, 501 (c) (3) status organizations in the United States, or the international equivalent. Despite the current low-price crude environment, Suncor remains committed to the SunCares employee grants program, including bereavement grants, as a key opportunity to continue to support employee community involvement. All eligible applications will continue to be honoured.

A $300 (applicable currency) donation will be made on behalf of a:

  • Full- or part-time Suncor employee who has passed away
  • Current member of the Suncor Energy Board of Directors who has passed away
  • Retiree of Suncor or its subsidiary companies who has passed away

A $100 (applicable currency) donation will be made on behalf of:

  • An immediate family member of a full- or part-time Suncor employee who has passed away. Immediate family includes spouse (including same-sex), parents, child, sibling, grandparents, grandchildren, mother/father-in-law, sister/brother-in-law or daughter/son-in-law

Any employee or retiree may submit an application on behalf of a colleague whose family member has passed away. A copy of the obituary is required to process the grant and must be attached to the application, or emailed to sef@suncor.com.
