François Langlois was appointed senior vice-president, Exploration and Production in 2011. In this role, François is responsible for the profitable, safe and sustainable operation of Suncor’s conventional onshore and offshore production assets, globally.

Since joining the company in 1982, François has held several leadership positions in exploration, development and operations in both North America and overseas. Prior to this role, he served as vice-president of operations in the International and Offshore business, and previously as vice-president of Unconventional Gas.

François has a bachelor's degree in geological engineering from Laval University. He is also a member of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers Board of Governors and chair of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers EPG communications committee.
