North America Onshore

North America Onshore, or NAO, consists primarily of operations and asset holdings in Western Canada, where Suncor explores for, produces and markets natural gas and conventional crude. In addition, Suncor holds assets that could allow the company to eventually explore long-term supply opportunities in northern frontier areas.

We expect natural gas producers in North America to continue to face low gas prices in the near future. In light of this environment, Suncor has implemented a strategy to make its operations in this region more profitable. We will continue to focus on safety, reliability and environmental performance in 2012.

NAO strives to operate an oil and gas business recognized by stakeholders for being safe, reliable, sustainable and cost effective. We will maximize our asset value and grow in strategic areas.

As of September 30, 2012, NAO was producing about 312 million cubic feet of natural gas equivalent per day. Of this, about 5,500 barrels per day consisted of liquids and crude oil.
