Suncor explores for, develops and produces conventional oil and natural gas internationally, from both onshore and offshore developments.
Suncor’s key international regions
Libya. Suncor is not exploring in Libya and has not yet resumed its full business in the country, but the Harouge joint venture (with a 49% interest held by Suncor) began re-starting production in late 2011.
Norway. Norway offers material growth opportunities and the possibility to build a sustainable business in the North Sea. We currently hold 16 exploration licences in our Norwegian portfolio.
Syria. Political unrest and resulting sanctions in Syria have halted Suncor’s operations in Syria. For more information, visit the archives on Suncor Response. Prior to sanctions, Suncor’s primary asset in Syria was the Ebla development, which achieved first commercial gas in April 2010.
United Kingdom. Suncor is committed to maintaining and growing a sustainable business in the United Kingdom, including offshore production, development and exploration. Our portfolio focus here is on the Central North Sea.
