1. How do I view jobs?

To view and apply for current Suncor job opportunities, please visit Search Suncor Jobs from the left navigation.

2. How do I apply for a specific job?

  1. When you see a job opportunity that interests you, click “Apply,” which is located at the top of the job description. Your profile will be sent for that specific position.
  2. You will then be prompted to log in as a “Registered User” or create a “New User Account”. Complete your application and submit it online.
  3. Your application will be reviewed against the skills and experience requirements of the job. The time it takes for Suncor to complete the application review process varies with each position. Should your experience and skills match these requirements, you will be contacted to arrange an interview.
  4. Due to anticipated volumes of applicants, we are unable to respond to telephone and email inquiries about the status of your application. Only suitable candidates will be contacted by Suncor.

3. How do I confirm that my resumé has been submitted?
Once you have applied to an opportunity, you will receive an email notification that your resumé has been submitted for review. Should your experience and skills match the requirements, you will be contacted to arrange an interview. Only suitable candidates will be contacted by Suncor.

4. I’ve applied for a job at Suncor. When will I receive a response?
It typically takes a few weeks after a job posting has closed for the recruiter to contact candidates they want to interview for the role. Only suitable candidates will be contacted by Suncor.

At times, we will review candidate profiles for future opportunities. We encourage you to keep your profile current and updated if you remain interested in Suncor.

5. I want to work for Suncor but I don’t see any current opportunities that I’m interested or qualified for. Can I still apply?
If you are interested in Suncor but do not see opportunities that you are interested in or qualified for, you can add your profile to our system to be considered for future opportunities.

We encourage you to continue to check our site regularly and apply directly to the positions you’re interested in and qualified for as they are posted online.

6. How do I create a profile?

  1. Select Search Suncor Jobs > View All Jobs from the left navigation.
  2. Click the “Login” button.
  3. If you are a new user, enter your email, create and confirm your password in the “Create a New User Account” box, and click “Submit.”  If you are registered user, enter your email and password in the “Registered User Account” box and click “Submit.”
  4. Click “My Profile.”
  5. Follow the instructions to import and attach your resumé, complete the profile and click "Confirm" to save your profile information.

7. How do I edit my profile?

  1. Select Search Suncor Jobs > View All Jobs from the left navigation.
  2. Click the “Login” button.
  3. Enter your email and password in the “Registered User” box, and click “Submit.” 
  4. Click “My Profile,” make your changes and then click “Confirm” to save the changes.

8. What if I have forgotten my password?

  1. Select Search Suncor Jobs > View All Jobs from the left navigation.
  2. Click the "Login" button.
  3. Scroll down to “Reset password” and enter your email address.
  4. Click “Submit” and you will be asked to answer a series of questions to retrieve your password.

9. I’m experiencing technical issues and cannot apply to a position at Suncor. Who can I contact for help?

For any technical issues, please email us for help. Please note that our email address should not be used to:

  1. Send a resumé and apply for a job. We will only consider applications that have been submitted through our online application system.
  2. Inquire about job opportunities at Suncor.  Please visit Search Suncor Jobs for a complete list of openings.
  3. Revise a job application. Please log in to the Career Centre to revise your profile.
  4. Follow up on the status of a job application or interview. If you are a suitable candidate, a recruiter will contact you. 

10. What if I have forgotten all my login information?

In the event that you do not remember your email address or password to log in to your profile, please call our Employee Centre at
1-866-276-7800 Ext. 2.

11. Someone sent me a job offer. How do I know it is legitimate?

Suncor is aware that some job seekers have received false employment offers from an individual or organization posing as Suncor. Individuals or organizations sending these false employment offers may request personal information or funds to further the recruitment process. Please be aware that Suncor will never request money from job seekers, nor request personal information beyond what is required for a resume. All individuals who are successful in gaining an offer of employment from Suncor, whether directly or indirectly, are always required to go through a formal recruitment process including an interview with a member of Suncor’s recruitment team.

One quick way to know your potential offer is a scam is to check the email address. Legitimate emails from Suncor employees end in @suncor.com. Some recent scams have come from email addresses that are similar. Suncor takes action to shut these false addresses down as soon as we are made aware of them, but often this is only after the scammers have contacted many job seekers. If you’re concerned you’ve been contacted by an individual or organization posing as Suncor, please contact us.

13. Does Suncor hire internationally for jobs in Canada?

Suncor is a Canadian company operating in Canada and abroad. For Suncor jobs based in Canada we have a responsibility and a legal obligation to hire Canadians first. Suncor only hires candidates from outside of Canada when there is a shortage of that specific skill in the Canadian labour market and we can demonstrate to the Government of Canada that we are unable to fill our position(s) with a Canadian. 14. I am currently living in Canada, am I eligible to work at Suncor?
