1. How do I view and apply for a job at Suncor?

To view and apply for current Suncor job opportunities, please visit Current Suncor Jobs from the left navigation.

2. How do I create a profile?

  1. Select Current Suncor Jobs from the left navigation.
  2. Click “Log-in.”
  3. If you are a new user, enter your email, create and confirm your password in the “Create a New User Account” box, and click “Submit.”  If you are registered user, enter your email and password in the “Registered User Account” box and click “Submit.”
  4. Click “My Profile.”
  5. Follow the instructions to import and attach your resumé, complete the profile and click "Confirm" to save your profile information.

3. How do I edit my profile?

  1. Select Current Suncor Jobs from the left navigation.
  2. Click “Log-in.” 
  3. Enter your email and password in the “Registered User” box, and click “Submit.” 
  4. Click “My Profile,” make your changes and then click “Confirm” to save the changes.

4. How do I apply for a specific job? 

  1. Select Current Suncor Jobs from the left navigation.
  2. View all openings or click “Search Jobs” and populate the drop-down menus to narrow your search for specific opportunities.
  3. To apply to any opportunity, you must log in as a “Registered User” or create a “New User Account.”
  4. When you see a job opportunity that interests you, click “Apply,” which is located at the top and the bottom of the job description.  Your profile will be sent for that specific position.
  5. Your application will be reviewed against the skills and experience requirements of the job.  The time it takes for Suncor to complete the application review process varies with each position.  Should your experience and skills match these requirements, you will be contacted to arrange an interview.
  6. Due to anticipated volumes of applicants, we are unable to respond to telephone and email inquiries about the status of your application.

5. What if I have forgotten my password?

  1. Select Current Suncor Jobs from the left navigation.
  2. Click "Log- in."
  3. Scroll down to “Forget your password?” and enter your email address.
  4. Click “Submit” and you will be asked to answer a series of questions to retrieve your password.

6. How do I submit my resumé for future consideration?

If you are unable to find a relevant job or location in the drop-down menu, it means that there are no current roles available.

If you are interested in roles that are not available, we encourage you to submit your resumé for future consideration.

  1. Select Current Suncor Jobs from the left navigation.
  2. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on “If you don't see a job in your area, click here and submit your profile for future consideration.”
  3. Log in as a “Registered User” or create a “New User Account.”
    • If you are a registered user, log in and click on "My Profile" and follow the steps on the screen to import a resumé and update your profile.
    • If you are a new user, once you have logged into the system, you will be redirected to the "My Profile" screen. You can import and attach your resumé and/or update your profile as necessary.
  4. Select “Confirm” to save your changes.

7. What is a Career Alert?

If you do not see a job currently listed that interests you, we encourage you to create a "Career Alert”.  This feature will automatically notify you via email when opportunities matching your interests become available.  This will ensure that you never miss a potential employment opportunity at Suncor.

8. How do I create a Career Alert?

  1. Select Current Suncor Jobs from the left navigation.
  2. Log in as a “Registered User” or create a “New User Account.”
  3. Once logged in, click on "Career Alerts" then click “Add a Career Alert.”
  4. Once you have populated the drop-down menus, click “Confirm,” review your choices and click “Submit.”

9. I’m experiencing technical issues and cannot apply to a position at Suncor. Who can I contact for help?

For any technical issues, please email us for help. Please note that our email address should not be used to:

    1. Send a resumé and apply for a job. We will only consider applications that have been submitted through our online application system.
    2. Inquire about job opportunities at Suncor.  Please visit Current Suncor Jobs for a complete list of openings.
    3. Revise a job application. Please log in to the Career Centre to revise your profile.
    4. Follow up on the status of a job application or interview. If you are a suitable candidate, a recruiter will contact you. 

10. How do I confirm that my resumé has been submitted?

  1. Select Current Suncor Jobs from the left navigation.
  2. "Log in" and enter your email address and password.
  3. Click on “My Job List” and a list of all positions you have applied for will be displayed.
  4. Once you have applied to an opportunity, you will receive an email notification that your resumé has been submitted for review.  Should your experience and skills match the requirements, you will be contacted to arrange an interview.

11. How do I get help accessing the careers section?

Suncor's Careers web page only supports Internet Explorer versions 5+ and Netscape versions 6+. You can download a free copy of these browsers at http://www.microsoft.com/ and http://www.netscape.com/ respectively.

If your browser reports an error on the page, you may need to empty your Temporary Internet Files.

  1. Open your web browser
  2. Go to Tools > Internet Options > General >Temporary Internet Files.
  3. Click on "Delete Files."
  4. Click "OK."

JavaScript and cookies must be enabled. To enable them:

  1. Open your web browser and select Tools > Internet Options > Security > Custom Level.
  2. Make sure all three items under the Scripting section are enabled.

12. What if I have forgotten all my login information?

In the event that you do not remember your email address or password to log into your profile, please call our Employee Centre at 1-866-276-7800 Ext. 2.

13. How long does the selection process normally take?

The selection process can vary in time before a successful candidate is found. Once the posting closes, applications are reviewed for candidate suitability. Only qualified candidates will be contacted.

The time to complete the hiring process will vary depending on a number of factors such as the type of position, number of applications received and administrative processes.

At times, we review resumés for future opportunities. We encourage you to keep your profile current and updated if you remain interested in Suncor.

14. Someone sent me a job offer. How do I know it is legitimate?

Suncor is aware that some job seekers have received false employment offers from an individual or organization posing as Suncor.  Individuals or organizations sending these false employment offers may request personal information or funds to further the recruitment process.


Please be aware that Suncor will never request money from job seekers, nor request personal information beyond what is required for a resumé.  All individuals who are successful in gaining an offer of employment from Suncor, whether directly or indirectly are always required to go through a formal recruitment process including an interview with a member of the Suncor Recruitment Team.
