Jon Webb started at the company pumping gas. Today, he manages the company’s aviation, ground transportation and real estate needs. In between he has grown his career in a number of challenging roles.

BJ works in the fire department at one of Suncor’s oil sands sites, is a recipient of a Governor General medal for bravery, for his heroism on the job. He is Chipewyan and lives with his wife and children at Fort Mackay where they enjoy having many extended family members close by.

Reinhold Drygala thinks the grass is greener on the Suncor side. He should know. He has been involved in developing a golf course fungicide and a selective herbicide for homeowners that significantly reduce chemicals — all because of the company’s oil and gas involvement. He sees Suncor as full of opportunities for the person who is willing.

Joanne Manser believes she has one of the best jobs at Suncor. She builds relationships with community organizations where Suncor operates and also works with the company’s grants program. She has had company support achieving two certificates while working. The best part of her job? The sense of pride she brings home every day.
Joy is from the Athabasca-Chipewyan First Nation and grew up in Fort Chipewyan. Today, she represents Suncor in her community. A single mom who was raised by traditional grandparents, she has taken on many challenges to become the success she is today.

Shenandoah Johns is the director of legal affairs for Suncor’s oil sands and in situ operations. She and her Suncor-employed husband and their four children live in Fort McMurray, and have convinced many family members to move there as well, to enjoy the opportunities and lifestyle the region offers.
Darcy has worked here since 1983 and with training provided by the company, has moved up to an information technology job working with SAP systems. An ultra-marathon runner, he and his wife try to model a healthy lifestyle for their kids and their community.
oil sands royalty planning manager
manager, Oil Sands Royalty Planning, Calgary
Minir Jivraj is a royalty planning manager with Suncor. He has a background in sciences and an interest in finance, sees potential for himself within the company. He joined the company partly because of its community giving philosophies and stays because he sees how Suncor delivers on its community and environmental sustainability promises.
