Bruno Francoeur 

Chief Transformation Officer 

Bruno Francoeur was appointed Chief Transformation Officer in May 2019.
Bruno Francoeur was appointed Chief Transformation Officer in May 2019. In this role, Bruno leads the Transformation Management Office (TMO) for the enterprise. Bruno and his team are accountable for ensuring Suncor retains its competitive advantage by being purpose driven, people focused, data informed, and technology enabled.

Bruno has more than 30 years of industry experience, including over 10 years at Union Carbide. In 1997, Bruno joined legacy Petro-Canada and spent a number of years in various roles at the Montreal refinery and with the strategy team in Toronto before leading the refinery as vice president for six years. 

In 2012, Bruno took his expertise to the upstream in various leadership roles in the oil sands. He most recently served as Regional Operations Executive where he led Suncor’s upstream operations across northern Alberta. In this role, Bruno was accountable for the operation and maintenance of Suncor’s mining and in situ sites (Base Plant, Fort Hills, Firebag and MacKay River), as well as the technical services associated with those assets.
 
Currently based out of Calgary, Bruno previously resided in Fort McMurray where he was an active member in the community. He is a previous board chair of the Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo, which manages many recreation facilities in the region, including the Suncor Community Leisure Centre at MacDonald Island Park.

Bruno holds a bachelor of science in chemical engineering from the University of Sherbrooke.
