Our employees told us they wanted to share the online training with family and friends. Community organizations also asked us to share it to enrich their own training opportunities. Since 2016, Suncor began offering our online Aboriginal awareness training to the public, free of charge. The web-based program helps raise awareness about the history, experiences and cultures of Indigenous Peoples in Canada and changing perceptions.
By the end of 2019, nearly 9,000 of our Canadian employees have completed the online sessions and approximately 1,500 Canadian employees have completed classroom sessions. Our employees are also embracing various learning and cultural opportunities.
