Who is eligible for the New Grad Rotation Programs?
Candidates who have applied within two years of graduating with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.
Qualifications for each role vary. Please view the specific job requirements to confirm your eligibility.
Engineer in Training (EIT)
Suncor’s Engineer in Training (EIT) program is offered to engineers who have completed their undergraduate degree within the previous year.
The EIT program is 36 to 48 months in length, with a minimum of two rotations. The Program provides new graduates the experience they need to earn their professional designation.

Supply Chain Management
The Supply Chain Management New Grad Program is an innovative, industry-leading program allowing new grads to grow personally and professionally.
The program consists of three, year-long rotations that provide solid experience in three of Suncor’s business units:
- Major Projects
- Category Management
- Operations and Central Services
Some rotations are situated in the Fort McMurray area.

Accounting & Finance
The Accounting & Finance New Graduate Program is designed to develop engaged, competent and capable accounting and finance professionals. Through a two-year program, new graduates build technical competencies and capabilities which will help them in their future careers.
This program offers two streams:
- Two-year rotational: graduates complete two one-year rotations in the following areas of Finance: controllers, tax, treasury or investor relations.
- Two-year non-rotational: graduates complete two years in one of the following areas: financial planning and analysis, internal audit or process management.
Graduates will gain some of the competencies required for their designation, however further professional experience is required after completing the program.

Sales & Marketing
The Sales & Marketing New Grad Program gives new graduates the opportunity to grow their capabilities in Suncor’s Refining & Marketing (R&M) business unit in the areas of:
- Integration & Planning
The program provides valuable experience and insight into the downstream operations of the business while giving new grads the tools they need for a successful career with Suncor.
This two-year program alternates new grads through two or three rotations within different areas of R&M before being placed in a permanent position in their area of specialty.

Project Controls in Training
The Major Projects Project Controls-in-Training program encompasses the people, processes and tools used to plan, manage and mitigate cost and schedule issues and any risk events that may impact a project. Successful candidates will have a unique opportunity to rotate between Cost Control, Estimating and Planning & Scheduling before selection of specialization in their fourth year and pursuing AACE certification (Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering International).
Candidates will have an opportunity to work across Suncor Major Projects’ multi-million to multi-billion dollar projects and will be exposed to work assignments in Fort McMurray, Edmonton and Calgary.
