Executive Vice President, Downstream

Dave Oldreive, Executive Vice President – Downstream, responsible for refining, sales & marketing, midstream logistics and supply, trading & optimization. Dave joined the company with extensive Canadian and international downstream experience.

Dave has nearly 30 years of energy industry experience, including extensive experience in refining. Before joining Suncor in 2023, Dave was the refinery manager at ExxonMobil’s Baton Rouge refinery where he was responsible for all aspects of the safe, reliable and profitable operations of the refinery with a production of 540,000 barrel of oil equivalent per day.

Through his career with ExxonMobil and Imperial Oil working in Canada, the United States and Singapore, Dave had a variety of roles in engineering, operations, supply, and business support functions with increasing responsibility. He is known for delivering operational excellence and enhanced competitiveness as well as for transforming culture and leadership.

Dave holds a mechanical engineering degree from Dalhousie University and a masters of business administration from Saint Mary’s University.
