Earlier this year, Suncor President and CEO Rich Kruger, joined the leaders of Canada’s largest energy companies calling on Prime Minister Mark Carney to "Build Canada Now.”
Since then, we’ve seen positive progress and signs of collaboration, including the recent creation of the Major Projects Office.
However, critical work remains. Canada continues to lack the clear, competitive, and long-term fiscal and regulatory frameworks needed to unlock the full economic potential of its energy sector. Attracting investment and enabling major projects will require meaningful policy changes—and urgency remains.
