Supporting Kids Cancer Care with the Calgary Flames Foundation

This season, we launched a multi-year partnership with the Calgary Flames. It’s a visible sign of the values our organizations share: teamwork, resilience and giving back to the community we call home.

Suncor recently expanded its partnership to the Calgary Flames Foundation, joining forces to fund programs that make a real difference for local families. One of those programs is Kids Cancer Care, a Calgary-based organization dedicated to helping young people affected by cancer - and their families - not just survive, but thrive.

Together, our support helped grow Kids Cancer Care’s PEER Exercise Program (Pediatric Cancer Patients and Survivors Engaging in Exercise for Recovery), which creates opportunities for kids and their siblings to move, play, and feel like part of a team again. These activities build physical literacy, confidence, and social connections that are essential for recovery and long-term well-being.

Our funding even helped purchase floor hockey equipment — because sometimes, support looks like sticks and nets. But in practice, it means confidence, connection, and a reminder that these kids are part of something bigger: a community that believes in them.

A night to remember
On December 18, community spirit was on display at the Calgary Flames Foundation Night of Giving, presented by Suncor. Suncor was honoured to host families from Kids Cancer Care and PEER floor hockey program participants. The kids were featured in-game and received a special gift in advance of the holidays.
