Chief Legal Officer & General Counsel

Jacquie Moore, Chief Legal Officer, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, is responsible for all legal matters across the corporation and works closely with Suncor’s Board of Directors on matters of corporate governance.

Since joining Suncor in 2011, Jacquie has held a number of senior leadership roles in the organization. Most recently, she led the legal teams responsible for downstream, regional and regulatory legal within the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, and supply & trading. She has also led the teams responsible for delivering commercial and legal support in corporate, projects and supply chain, intellectual property, strategy & corporate development, and exploration & production.

Jacquie also held the role of Vice President, External Relations at Suncor where she played a key role in the development, implementation and evaluation of Suncor’s government relations strategy by working constructively with all levels of governments and actively participated in, and contributed to, the development of government policy and regulatory initiatives.

Before joining Suncor, Jacquie was a partner at Blake, Cassel & Graydon LLP with a concentration in corporate, commercial, and securities law. In her time in private practice, she was frequently recognized by “The Best Lawyers in Canada”, a peer-reviewed publication, as a leading lawyer in corporate law, securities law, and mergers and acquisitions.

Jacquie holds both a bachelor of commerce degree and a law degree (LLB) from the University of Calgary. She is an active member in her community and serves as a Board Member of the Calgary Municipal Land Corporation where she also serves as the Chair of the Governance Committee. She is a Member of the Board and the Finance & Audit Committee for the Clean Resource Innovation Network (CRIN), is a Board Member of the Edge School for Athletes Society, and in 2022, she joined the Suncor Energy Foundation (SEF) Board of Directors where she also serves as the Vice Chair.
