Are you ready to take the next step in your career? Here’s how to apply to jobs at Suncor.

How to apply

Step 1

Find a job that matches your experience, skills and interest through our HR system, Workday.

Step 2

Create an applicant profile, upload your resume and apply to the role(s) that suit your interest. Only include a transcript if you are applying for a student position.

Step 3

Once you create an applicant profile, you can create job alerts to notify you if a role that suits your experience becomes available. You can create alerts based on location, job category, job type and your interest in full or part-time opportunities.

Step 4

A recruiter will review your application. If you proceed to our shortlist, you may be asked to complete an assessment and/or pre-screen video interview.

Step 5

If you are shortlisted for a role, a member of our recruitment team will reach out to you to schedule a virtual or in-person interview with the hiring team.

Step 6

Once final hiring decisions are made for a role, a member of our recruitment team will contact you to let you know if you received an offer. If you are selected to move forward in the process, you will be invited by email to complete a background check which is undertaken by a third-party company we’ve engaged for these specialized services.

Beware of recruitment fraud

We are aware some applicants have received false employment offers from individuals or organizations posing as Suncor. Please be aware that we will never request money from job seekers, nor request personal information beyond what is required for a resume.

All individuals who are successful in gaining an offer of employment from Suncor, whether directly or indirectly, are always required to go through a formal recruitment process including an interview with a member of our recruitment team.

Fraud prevention tips

One quick way to know if your potential offer is a scam is by checking the email address of the sender. Legitimate emails from Suncor employees end in @suncor.com. Some recent scams have come from email addresses that may look similar.

We take action with these false addresses as soon as we are made aware of them, but often this is only after the scammers have contacted many job seekers.

We do not provide employment offers via social applications, such as WhatsApp, Facebook, or WeChat.

If you’re concerned you’ve been contacted by an individual or organization posing as Suncor, please forward the suspicious email as an attachment to jobs@suncor.com and our team will investigate.

If you feel you have fallen victim to fraud, please contact your local police/authorities. Additionally, you can report it to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.
