Petro-Canada Lubricants Wins Prestigious International Award for Best New Product or Service
MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 9, 2007) - Petro-Canada is pleased to announce that it's new PURITY FG with MICROL has received the International Stevie Award for Best New Product or Service. This industrial strength food grade lubricant contains MICROL, which is the first and only antimicrobial preservative registered by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for use in food grade lubricants. It's produced at the Petro-Canada Lubricants Centre in Mississauga, Ontario.
"Food processing machinery lubricants face some unique challenges such as stringent regulations, harsh environmental conditions and rigorous plant operations," said Dr. Henry Sapiano, who led the Research and Development team. "By protecting food grade lubricants from deterioration, fouling and odor caused by microorganisms, we're entering a new frontier in the optimization of food-processing equipment performance."
PURITY with MICROL was four years in development and formulated with exceptional performance characteristics, while meeting all necessary food safety and regulatory registration requirements. The Research and Development team was also chosen as a finalist in the Best Product Development Team category for their tremendous efforts.

Recipients of International Stevie Awards trophies were selected from nominations representing 30 different countries. Members of the Awards' Board of Distinguished Judges and Advisors and their staffs selected International Stevie Winners from among the finalists, which were determined by volunteer judges around the world during two months of preliminary judging.
