Main Plant 1 Flare Reroute Project

We recently submitted a construction permit to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) to make improvements to the flaring system at our Commerce City Refinery.

This permit would allow us to reroute gas from an older flare to a more modern flare on site. This work would improve the safety and efficiency of our operations including by reducing emissions intensity from our flaring system.

Plant 3 Tank 193 Vapor Control Project

We recently submitted a Title V minor permit modification application to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) for an emissions control and reduction project at our Commerce City Refinery.

This permit would allow us to rebuild an existing asphalt storage tank in Plant 3, known as Tank 193, and install a new vapor collection and control system. The new system will include an ultra-high efficiency filter and activated carbon adsorption bed, which are designed to reduce opacity and emissions of particulate matter (PM), volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) from the tank.
