Funding decisions are based on established criteria and are aligned with our funding priorities and eligibility guidelines. Applicants are required to review the information below prior to submission. Following receipt of a completed application, decisions may take up to eight weeks to be communicated.

Foster strong and sustainable communities by supporting local initiatives and Indigenous well-being.
Health and safety
Enhance the well-being of individuals and communities by supporting access to health resources, mental and physical wellness initiatives, and safety programs.
Education and workforce development
Support development of current and future workforces to build a skilled talent pool and meet evolving community and industry needs.

Cash or in-kind gifts to a charitable or not-for-profit organization located in or serving a community where we have established offices and/or operations.

Sponsorships
A sponsorship is support for an event, activity or organization by providing cash or other resources in exchange for access to recognition. If your organization is a not-for-profit or charitable organization, please use the link above to apply for funding, otherwise please email [email protected].
Funding criteria
The following organizations and/or initiatives are ineligible:
- Individuals, and individual pursuits
- Organizations that have a conflict of interest with our business
- Religious and political pursuits
- Debt-reduction campaigns
- Requests for funds post-event to offset budget shortfalls
- Political parties/candidates
- Lobby groups
- Labour organizations
- Private or charter schools
- Private membership-based organizations and service clubs
- Post-secondary student clubs, projects and fraternal organizations
- Community sports associations
- Organizations that have an overdue or incomplete reporting requirement related to any grant previously funding by Suncor
The following donations are ineligible:
- Donations to organizations that hold unrestricted net assets in excess of the organization’s annual expenses, as reflected in the financial statements of the most recent fiscal period.
- A donation of more than 40% of the total annual cost of an organization’s operations and/or initiatives.
- Donations to flow-through organizations that direct funds to other organizations through grants and donations.

Tips for applying:
- Review our grant evaluation.
- Provide a clear description of what you are requesting funding for and details of your budget.
- Demonstrate alignment to our focus areas and/or business priorities.
- Be detailed about recognition benefits and if you can engage our employees.
- Explain how you will measure impact and report on results.
- Be prepared to include audited or reviewed financial statements that demonstrate prudent financial management and responsible stewardship of net assets.
- Allow enough time for the review process, which can take up to eight weeks.
