Community investment in Montréal

A group of Suncor employees volunteer at a community garden.

Suncor’s Montréal refinery has been part of the city’s east end since 1955. Hundreds of employees work at the site and live across the city.

By working with local partners, we invest in initiatives that support health and safety, education and workforce development and community and culture.

Community and culture

Suncor employees helped assemble and deliver holiday hampers in Montréal, supporting local partners that provide year round food assistance through weekly food baskets, food bank access, collective cooking programs and student breakfast initiatives.

Together, this support helps strengthen food security for families and students across the city.

Health and safety

Suncor invested $550,000 to support the purchase and installation of an intraoperative CT scanner at Maisonneuve Rosemont Hospital in Montréal. The advanced technology allows surgical teams to capture real time images during procedures, improving precision and patient safety.

The scanner is expected to support safer, more accurate care for 80 to 120 patients each year, helping physicians make informed decisions during complex surgeries and improve outcomes.

Education and workforce development

École secondaire Daniel-Johnson in Pointe aux Trembles supports students with intellectual disabilities as they build confidence, independence and social skills. With Suncor’s support, the school offers community outings that turn classroom learning into real-world experiences.

These opportunities help students practise everyday skills, strengthen independence and build a deeper sense of belonging beyond the classroom.
