Suncor’s Sarnia refinery has been part of the Sarnia Lambton community for more than 70 years, supplying fuel across Ontario and Canada.
By working with local partners, we invest in initiatives that support health and safety, education and workforce development, and community and culture.
Community and culture
Downtown Sarnia was transformed into a hub for creativity and culture during the inaugural ARTPATH festival in August 2025.
As presenting sponsor, Suncor helped bring hands-on activities, live performances, artisan markets and interactive installations to the community, creating opportunities for residents and visitors to connect, celebrate local talent and experience the arts.
Health and safety
A $25,000 holiday donation in 2025 provided 400 gift cards to nearly 200 families, helping children, youth and caregivers cover essential needs during a financially challenging time.
This support helped ease financial pressure during the holidays, ensuring families could access food, gifts and necessities while maintaining stability and wellbeing.
Education and workforce development
Suncor supports cultural and youth-focused initiatives at Aamjiwnaang First Nation, including ongoing support for the annual Powwow and bursaries that help students pursue post-secondary education.
These investments help sustain cultural traditions, strengthen community relationships and expand opportunities for Aamjiwnaang youth while supporting connection, learning and long-term success.
