Adam Albeldawi is Executive Vice President, Upstream, responsible for Suncor’s upstream business including oil sands mining, in situ operations, upgrading, and East Coast and International production assets.
In this role, he oversees Canada’s largest integrated upstream portfolio and is accountable for safe, reliable and competitive operational performance.
Since joining Suncor in 2006, Mr. Albeldawi has held roles across Suncor’s operational, commercial and corporate functions, including in refining, environment, health & safety, supply & trading, joint venture asset management, oil sands, human resources, and external affairs. During his leadership of Suncor’s in situ business, he championed a high-performance culture, enabling both Firebag and Mackay River to deliver exceptional business results in all areas of safety, reliability and profitability.
Mr. Albeldawi joined Suncor’s executive leadership team in October 2024 as Chief Human Resources Officer. In 2025, his role expanded to include Senior Vice President External Affairs, with oversight of investor relations, government affairs and public affairs. His experience spans both operating and corporate leadership roles providing a unique perspective on business performance, stakeholder engagement and organizational effectiveness.
Mr. Albeldawi holds a bachelor of engineering science from Western University and a master of business administration from the University of Manchester.
