Curtis Serra is General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, responsible for all legal and commercial matters across the corporation.
He also works closely with Suncor’s Board of Directors on matters of corporate governance.
Since joining Suncor in 2006, Mr. Serra has held a range of senior legal and commercial roles across the company, including Vice President, Legal Operations and Commercial; General Counsel, Syncrude Canada; and General Manager, Commercial Strategy and Corporate Development.
Mr. Serra is an accomplished legal and commercial executive with extensive experience in complex commercial transactions, joint ventures, logistics, commodities marketing and trading, regulatory matters, litigation, EPC matters, labour law, and occupational health and safety.
Mr. Serra holds a bachelor of laws degree from the University of Alberta and a bachelor of kinesiology degree from the University of Calgary. He was called to the bar in 2000.
